Kingsford Charcoal - The Kingsford Invitational

A brand-backed barbecue championship built as a live competition, media activation, press event, and television special for Destination America.

This event brought together winners from the country’s biggest barbecue competitions for a $50,000 winner-take-all championship, with Kingsford integrated throughout the format, visuals, product moments, and storytelling.

Key Contributions

• Helped deliver an early model for brand-funded culinary entertainment — a campaign built to function as competition, and promotional brand event at the same time.

• Developed the competition format from scratch in collaboration with Kingsford, Destination America, and production partners.

• Built and produced a high-stakes $50,000 championship featuring top winners from the national barbecue competition circuit.

• Led multidisciplinary creative and production teams across event execution, field production, host direction, scripts, story, brand integration segments, editorial and final delivery.

• Balanced brand objectives with entertainment value, incorporating product demos, product visuals, factory-tour elements, and Kingsford messaging without losing the energy of a real competition show.

• Produced two separate installments of the Kingsford Invitational for two production companies, helping shape and then evolve an early example of brand-funded entertainment.


Miller Lite - BBQ Brawl

A paid brand integration built into a prime-time Food Network franchise, designed as a sponsored challenge within an episode of BBQ Brawl.

The challenge awarded $5,000, plus a Miller Lite summer grilling package, to the brawler who made the strongest culinary use of Miller Lite in a recipe.

Key Contributions

• Served as the primary contact for Food Network’s branded content team and Miller Lite’s marketing team throughout challenge development, approvals, production, and execution.

• Developed the sponsored challenge concept in collaboration with Food Network and Miller Lite, then wrote the rules, creative framework, and on-camera scripting.

• Secured script and challenge approvals while protecting the episode’s story, tone, pacing, and competitive integrity.

• Managed client-facing visual requirements on set, ensuring Miller Lite received the product angles, branded moments, and integration coverage needed for the partnership.

• Coordinated with art and production teams to create a Miller Lite pantry display for brawler use during the challenge.

• Oversaw the build and presentation of the $5,000 prize moment, including a branded Miller Lite summer grilling package display.
